FAQ

How long does a typical engagement take from first call to final report?

It depends on the type of work. A strategic review runs six weeks from the kick-off session to the final presentation. Organisational design work typically takes eight to ten weeks. We agree a timeline at the outset and build in a buffer for the diagnostic phase, which sometimes surfaces things that need more time to understand properly.

Do you work with businesses outside Tokyo?

Yes. A significant portion of the work happens remotely, particularly the advisory retainer. For engagements that involve staff interviews or facilitated workshops, Harry travels to the client's location. Travel costs are agreed in advance and billed at cost, not marked up.

What size of business do you typically work with?

Most clients have between fifteen and two hundred employees. The work tends to suit businesses that are large enough to have real organisational complexity but small enough that the founder or CEO is still closely involved in day-to-day decisions. We have worked with smaller and larger organisations, but those are the conditions where the engagement tends to be most productive.

Can we start with a single workshop before committing to a longer engagement?

Yes, and several clients have done exactly that. A half-day facilitated session is a reasonable way to see how we work together before deciding whether a longer piece of work makes sense. There is no obligation to continue, and we will say so clearly if we do not think a longer engagement would be the right next step.
